Realty Within Reach Inc Introduce
Navigating the complex and competitive real estate market of New York City requires a clear understanding of the local landscape and the players involved. For those looking for a real estate agency in Brooklyn, it is essential to have all the available information before making a decision. Realty Within Reach Inc is one such agency located in a vibrant part of the borough, and this article aims to provide a factual overview based on publicly available data, including location, services, and customer feedback. Understanding these details is the first step in making an informed choice for your property needs, whether you are looking to rent or buy. This overview is intended to give you a comprehensive picture of what to expect when engaging with this firm.
Realty Within Reach Inc operates as a real estate agency, which is the general classification for their business. This suggests that their core services revolve around facilitating transactions in the property market. As a local business situated in Brooklyn, they are positioned to have a deep understanding of the immediate neighborhoods and the broader borough's real estate trends. In a city where local knowledge can be the key to a successful transaction, a firm with a strong neighborhood presence can be an important asset. Their services, while not detailed extensively in public records, would likely include assisting clients with both the buying and selling of properties, as well as managing and listing rental units. This dual function is common for real estate agencies in New York, where the market is a mix of both sales and a high volume of rentals.
The location of Realty Within Reach Inc is a notable aspect of their business. The office is situated at 522 Lefferts Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11225, USA. This address places the agency in a well-established residential area, close to key landmarks like Prospect Park and within an area known for its diverse housing stock. The neighborhood is highly walkable and accessible, a significant feature for most New Yorkers. The location is served by multiple subway lines and bus routes, making it convenient for clients to visit the office for appointments and consultations. This central Brooklyn location allows the agency to effectively serve the local community, keeping them closely connected to the properties and people in the area.
The services offered by Realty Within Reach Inc, as a real estate agency, would typically cover the essential functions of the industry. While specific details on their website or other public sources are limited, the nature of a real estate agency implies certain core operations. They would likely work with property owners to list and market homes for sale or rent. For prospective buyers and renters, they would assist in finding suitable properties, arranging viewings, and guiding them through the application and transaction processes. In the New York market, this often includes dealing with complex rental applications, lease agreements, and security deposit procedures. The feedback provided in customer reviews, although negative, points to a firm that is actively involved in rental listings and transactions, specifically with regard to application fees and security deposits.
Services Offered:
- Real estate agency services: Providing general real estate brokerage services for property transactions.
- Property listing and marketing: Assisting owners with listing their properties for sale or rent.
- Tenant and buyer representation: Helping clients find and secure residential properties.
The features and highlights of Realty Within Reach Inc are defined largely by their role as a local real estate agency in Brooklyn. Their primary highlight is their physical presence at 522 Lefferts Ave, which makes them an accessible point of contact for the community. The building itself on Lefferts Avenue is a modern condo building, which suggests they may have a particular focus on properties within this specific structure or similar residential buildings in the area. The public data indicates that Kim Cheslow is a licensed real estate broker associated with the firm, with a license number and a history of both sales and rentals. This information points to the firm's operational focus, primarily on residential listings.
However, it is also important to acknowledge the customer feedback provided. The reviews highlight significant concerns regarding rental practices, specifically related to application fees and security deposit returns. The reviewer claims the company charged an $80 application fee, which is above the legal maximum of $20 in New York State for tenant screening fees. They also allege that the company attempted to make "ridiculous deductions" from their security deposit, for damages that the reviewer claimed were pre-existing. The reviewer had to file a small claims case and go to arbitration to recover their deposit, which they believe was a "scam." This kind of direct feedback is a crucial part of the decision-making process for any prospective client.
Features / Highlights:
- Local Brooklyn presence: The agency is located on Lefferts Avenue, providing a local, on-the-ground presence in the neighborhood.
- Focus on residential properties: The provided data and reviews point to a strong focus on residential sales and rentals.
- Key personnel information: Public records indicate that a licensed real estate broker, Kim Cheslow, is associated with the firm, providing a point of professional contact.
For those who wish to contact Realty Within Reach Inc, the information is readily available. The address is 522 Lefferts Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11225, USA. The primary phone number is (718) 221-5302, and the mobile phone number is +1 718-221-5302. You can use these contact details to get in touch with the agency to inquire about their services or available listings.
What is worth choosing Realty Within Reach Inc? Based on the available public information, the firm's main value proposition is its local presence and focus on residential real estate in a specific part of Brooklyn. For individuals looking for a real estate agency that is physically located within the neighborhood they are interested in, this could be a point of consideration. However, it is essential to weigh this against the serious concerns raised in the customer reviews. The allegations of overcharging for application fees and improper deductions from security deposits are significant and should be carefully considered by anyone, particularly renters, before engaging with the company. Familiarizing yourself with New York rent laws, as the reviewer suggests, is a critical step for anyone dealing with a real estate firm. An informed consumer can use this information to ask the right questions and ensure their rights are protected. In conclusion, while Realty Within Reach Inc is a local real estate agency with a presence in Brooklyn, potential clients should conduct thorough due diligence and be aware of their rights as a tenant or buyer.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Don't bother with this company, they are trying to rip you off. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the rent law if you've rented from them. Applications should be $20 MAX (not $80.00 like they charged me) and they will try to take ridiculous deductions from your security deposit and wait too long to do so to the point where they will put a fake date on an invoice they created 20 minutes earlier. I had to file a small claims case for the rest of my deposit.I also discovered a photo of the scratch on the floor they tried to blame me for taken prior to my move in. They tried to charge $1900 for "scratched floors" it does not even cost close to that to sand flooring but it also wasn't something we ever should've been charged for. They insisted on moving forward so now the application fee overcharges are being fought for in court.-- Was able to recoup MOST of my deposit but still find it unreal I had to settle for arbitration when we did nothing wrong and lose part of our deposit. True scam artist.

April 30 · Corinne MurrayFor 497/505:Nick the building manager and Nicholas the super are EXCELLENT. Extremely timely, helpful, etc. Their maintenance crew is wonderful as well, extremely polite and very efficient.MANAGEMENT - Koren specifically - is the worst. All she does is send passive aggressive emails where she blatantly lies about why building problems (roaches for example) are your fault. Rather than actually solve your problem, she will just lie and try to blame you. (see other complaints here)ROACHES/UNSAFE NEIGHBORS: Despite having an immaculate apartment, there are roaches. I documented roaches in the hallway, have documentation of roaches on other floors, and have reported all of it. I let the exterminator man in every month to spray, spent $100 of my own money treating it, and of course, Koren claimed I didn't let the man in, I must leave food out, and then claimed my apartment "wasn't ready" for spraying despite the fact I spent two hours moving furniture and emptying cupboards in preparation. Now I'm having withhold rent/claim credits on my rent. This is mad.We had neighbors who were very loud and physically violent esp late at night - she claimed no one complained despite there being notes left on the door, despite neighbors approaching the door (documented), and despite there being written email complaints.DOCUMENT EVERYTHING WHEN YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH THEM. Otherwise, they will lie and scam their way out of doing anything.DOORMEN: Lazy and usually not at the desk. Very hard to catch them and therefore hard to get your packages. The rent is great but is the frustration worth it?

September 13 · Jacqueline Paige K.This is for the 661 Lincoln Place building - One of the other reviewers said it best, these buildings are pretty on the outside, but cheaply made and poorly managed. Not worth the high price of the rent! I fell in love with the overall design, but the nice finishings start to fall apart in couples months. Plus, the boiler in my building has been out for days. Everyone is bathing in cold water. Good luck getting a hold of the Super. Plus the receptionists in the management office are really rude. Wish someone told me before I moved in! Take your money and look for something that's actually quality. Or make sure you talk to some actual residents before you drop top $$$

June 25 · retro1DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. You will not get your security deposit back.I ordinarily do not write Google Reviews. My experience with this company was so abhorrent, I felt compelled to let others know that they should not lease from this company. You will get nickel and dimed on your security deposit and will not receive it back.I leased an apartment from Realty Within Reach and lived there for two years, during the pandemic. Our experience while we were living there was less than satisfactory, but was bearable. Our problems are not with the building we lived in or the staff in the actual building. Our problems are solely with Realty Within Reach. The staff in the office is extremely rude. When we started living there, we only lived there for a half of a month. They tried to charge us more money than the lease amount by charging us per diem. When I pointed this out to the accounting department, they were very rude and kept insisting I was wrong, when I was clearly not. When I finally was allowed to speak to a supervisor, they corrected it, but it took unnecessary time and frustration to deal with. The girl at the front desk in the leasing office is miserable. (I edited this because the door lady, Marta, is wonderful. I do not want to conflate her or the staff working in 661 Lincoln Place with the leasing office in any way). She is rude and accused us of leaving a mattress at the building when we moved out without any information to back up her claim (we did not).During our tenancy, we needed to ask for service requests. We did not have a working bathroom for over a month, because the person that I placed the service request with thought we were in another building and sent the maintenance crew to the other building instead. It took her a month to figure out where we were located. All of that would have been forgivable and I would not be writing such a negative review. However, we have received such poor treatment upon our leaving the building that I couldn't not share. We were not afforded an opportunity to do a final walkthrough of the apartment with an agent of the company, as promised. The company completed the walkthrough without our knowledge. They deducted from our security deposit a fee for cleaning the oven (which should be ordinary wear and tear), a $250 fee for a missing shelf (which, on the Street Easy posting for our apartment, can be easily seen in a closet in the completely empty apartment) and a "chipped" countertop. When I pointed out that the shelf was in the closet, I was advised once that the landlord would get back to me. I sent several follow up emails to the company informing them that i was waiting to speak to someone. I have yet to receive any response. Also, the company entered our apartment prior to our lease ending and left ladders, paint, and working equipment in our apartment without asking permission to enter the apartment in the first place. We were only asked for permission to enter the apartment for the broker to take photos to post on the listing. No one ever gave them permission to enter our apartment after that.DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. You will not get your security deposit back.

November 01 · Megan TrefryRead the review below. Management is rude. There is a drug problem in one of their new builds and they refuse to do anything about it... Apart from passive aggressive emails. Weed smell throughout the building. See picture for people trying to cover it up. Noisy. Not worth even a reduced rent. Run as far as you can. This is for 497/505 saint marks.
