Indigo House Introduce
In the bustling heart of New York City, where the demand for flexible and comfortable living spaces is always high, Indigo House stands out as a premier destination for furnished short-term and extended stays. This isn’t just another apartment building; it’s a fully-serviced living solution designed for those who need a home away from home, whether for a temporary work assignment, a month-long city escape, or a transitional period. Located at 235 W 56th St, Indigo House offers a unique blend of a private residential feel with the convenience and amenities of a high-end hotel, making it an ideal choice for a variety of guests, from corporate professionals to families on vacation.
The concept of furnished apartment rentals has grown in popularity for its ability to provide more space, privacy, and a more authentic living experience than a traditional hotel. Indigo House excels in this niche, providing residents with fully-equipped apartments that are both a comfortable retreat and a functional base from which to explore the city. The building’s management understands the needs of a short-term resident, offering a seamless and professional experience from the moment of inquiry to the end of the stay. As highlighted in a customer review, a couple who stayed for 65 days during the summer of 2018 enjoyed a "great room" for relaxing and appreciated the "large bedroom closet" for new clothes. The dedication to a positive and supportive experience is further evidenced by a thank-you note and the professional handling of their lease by the staff, making the entire process smooth and worry-free. This level of personalized service is what truly sets Indigo House apart in a city known for its fast-paced, sometimes impersonal, nature.
The building's reputation is built on its ability to meet and exceed expectations, a sentiment echoed by another visitor who stayed in a unit known as "the Skyhouse" in October 2019. This guest noted the apartment was "well-maintained and clean, it was well-equipped and comfortable with plenty of storage." The property's commitment to providing a high-quality, comfortable, and clean environment is evident in these accounts, offering a peace of mind that is invaluable for anyone embarking on a short-term stay in a new city. Indigo House caters to a wide audience by offering more than just a place to sleep; it provides a living space that truly becomes a sanctuary in the midst of one of the world's most dynamic urban environments.
Location and Accessibility

The building is just a short stroll from Central Park, as one reviewer noted, providing a perfect escape from the urban hustle and bustle. It is also in close proximity to major cultural venues like Carnegie Hall and Broadway theaters, making it a prime spot for tourists and those in town for a cultural immersion. A brief walk to Columbus Circle offers not only a major transit hub but also a wide variety of shopping and dining options, including a Whole Foods Market and a Gristedes Supermarket, which were appreciated by a previous guest for their convenience. Furthermore, accessibility is a priority at Indigo House. The building features a wheelchair-accessible entrance, ensuring that all guests, regardless of mobility, can enter and exit the premises comfortably. This commitment to inclusivity makes the building a welcoming choice for a diverse range of visitors and residents.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My wife and I stayed here for 65 days during the summer of 2018. We took full advantage of the rooftop sports club and lounge, relaxing in the busy city on the 44th floor! We loved the location of the apartment, on the corner with great natural light throughout the day. The living is a great room to lay in, reading, watching movies, or watching the city life through the big windows. We enjoyed the large bedroom closet and my wife took full advantage of the space filling it with new clothes from 5th Ave! Sylvie helped us navigate our first short term lease, answered all our questions patiently and professionally, and returned our security deposit with a thoughtful thank you card. We would recommend this apartment to our friends and family and would stay again without hesitation!
August 20 · GE TangWe visited New York in October 2019 and stayed in the Skyhouse (41E 235 W56th Street) for 30 days. The apartment more than met our expectations. It was well-maintained and clean, it was well-equipped and comfortable with plenty of storage. After many long days of sightseeing it was always a pleasure to come home to the Skyhouse with its expansive view over 8th Avenue and beyond to the Hudson River and New Jersey. The closeness of Central Park allowed us to escape the hustle and bustle of the city when we felt we needed a break. Two bonuses were the close proximity of supermarkets – Wholefoods and Gristedes – and subway transport at Columbus Circle and 57th Street. For us the Skyhouse was a near perfect base from which to explore New York.
November 22 · Lee CraigWe had a great stay in the Symphony building. The apartment was well equipped with a huge wardrobe (a lot of hangers), kitchen-ware, appliances etc. Together with beautiful furniture, the apartment has everything you can possibly need in order to feel at home. It's obvious that Sylvie has put a lot of effort into making the apartment cozy and home-like!The gym and pool on the top floor are really great! And don't miss the Sunday morning breakfast on the 42:nd floor! The location is great being close to everything! All the contacts we have had with Sylvie has been very smooth, she is very service minded! We recommend the Indigo apartments at Symphony house!
April 30 · Mats HanssonMy husband and I stayed at Indigo House for the second time, this year for one month, last year for 3 months. A terrific choice in every way! The apartments are excellently furnished and very well equipped, with comfortable bed, fine kitchen, big windows on the 41st floor, really everything you need and more, to a very high standard. My husband swam every day in the pool on the top floor -- great gym there too. Sylvie is a wonderful host, responsive and helpful, and the building's service people are friendly. For us, the location was perfect: walk to all theatres, museums, and Central Park, Whole Foods 2 blocks away, superb restaurants. Just a top-notch experience!
January 22 · Laura KMy husband and I stayed at one of Sylvie's apartments while in transition between homes and it was an incredibly pleasant and easy experience. The building and apartment were delightful. The apartment was very tastefully decorated and had all the essentials to make it an extremely comfortable stay. Sylvie was incredibly attentive, responsive and kind throughout our stay. Highly recommended!
