★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Avoid Independence Plaza & Stellar Management at All CostsAfter two years as a tenant at Independence Plaza in Tribeca, I can confidently say this building is not worth the sky-high rent or the constant headaches—largely thanks to the appalling behavior of Stellar Management staff, specifically Sheri Ramirez. When my household explored moving to another apartment within the same building, we were met with unprofessionalism that went far beyond typical NYC leasing frustrations. April and Sheri were dismissive, evasive, and repeatedly provided contradictory or misleading information. Their communication style was, at best, careless, and at worst, deliberately obstructive. Instead of working with long-term tenants to find a fair solution, they seemed determined to make the process as difficult and unpleasant as possible. It is mind-boggling to witness such a lack of courtesy toward residents who have been paying steep rent here for years. Details were omitted or spun to fit whatever narrative suited them in the moment. The result? Wasted time, unnecessary stress, and a stark reminder that Stellar Management prioritizes profit over even the most basic tenant respect. The location in Tribeca might be appealing, but if you value honesty, professionalism, or even basic decency from building management, you should seriously reconsider. There are far better-run buildings in the neighborhood that won’t treat loyal tenants as disposable inconveniences.
August 08 · Hanna SayreI did an Uber eat delivery December 14th on a Tuesday night and the doorman was extremely rude to me clearly because I was a “delivery person”. It was 10pm and I am a 30 year old Hispanic woman working at night. It is automatically extremely scary working at these hours but I do what I have to do. The doorman got in my face and even got in the elevator to yell at me just because I didn’t hear him when I walked in. To begin with he was dressed like a regular person and had a white big shirt on and a black hat on. I told him I didn’t hear him the first time but he just kept yelling at me. I’ve tried contacting the building but no response, I’m definitely taking further action because this behavior is just so unacceptable to us woman who work at these hours and it’s just scary to even get in someone’s face this way! He does not represent this apartment complex hood at all. And to make it even worse I was so scared I just wanted to drop off my delivery and run out of there so fast when I got downstairs he was with a guest and his whole energy changed since someone was in front of him. Clearly shows that he is very different to people he thinks are beneath him! Very unprofessional! What if I was a guest of someone who lived there? Or a colleague? What would they think?
January 31 · Lorraine RoyaltyMANAGEMENT IS AWFUL! To start, Maria V at leasing is so unprofessional and doesn’t know what is going on. Front desk is also clueless… they do not know how to answer any questions! I’ve lived here 2 years and for the price and location is not worth it compared to the other buildings around. AVOID
August 01 · Erika BonapaceI was robbed in this apartment building & received no compensation for my loss or email back from management. My apartment was broken into and vandalized -- avoid at all costs! Not safe.
April 30 · Zaheer JethwaniLiving over a year here and I love it. Onie is amazing, best doorman in NYC. Patty too.
