October 22 · A.SI am extremely disappointed by the lack of professionalism and disrespect I received by a realtor at this agency. I rarely write reviews however I was so appalled by my phone call I felt the need to submit one. I am writing this review not about the agency but the realtor, Kathleen Fassler. I was given her name based on a recommendation from a friend who had worked with her when she purchased her home in Smithtown. Although her purchase was 10 years ago, my friend noted that she still saw Kathleen on occasion in the neighborhood and would often speak with her. She said she really enjoyed working with her when she was house hunting and now that I was looking for a home in Smithtown she recommended Kathleen to me. I emailed Kathleen (Friday) and explained my situation and I received an email from her (Saturday) to use the website to narrow down areas and she would send listings. I replied that I would however I had some difficulty setting up a search on the site so I emailed her again and informed her that I wasn’t able to do it and asked for help, no reply. I waited a day and emailed again (Sunday) informing her that I needed help and asked if she was available to speak on the phone, again I did not receive a response. I understand that the housing market is extremely busy right now so I just assumed she was busy. I decided to call her office today (Tuesday) to speak with her. She answered the phone very rude and even after I tried to explain that a friend had recommended her she interrupted and asked what I was calling her about. I again reiterated that I had emailed a few days ago and that I was looking for a realtor to help me buy a home. She interrupted again and with a sharp tone said she wasn’t sure what my call was in reference to. I’m not sure where the miscommunication was but as I was trying to explain again she hung up on me. I was completely in shock as to how someone could be so rude when I, a buyer, was trying to seek help and was completely disrespected. Being a first time home buyer is stressful, now more so in this pandemic. Receiving this treatment when one is seeking help is something no one should experience.
