The Yard: Lincoln Square Coworking Office Space NYC Introduce
In the modern world of work, the traditional office is no longer the only option. For freelancers, entrepreneurs, small businesses, and remote workers in New York City, flexible office spaces have become a vital part of the professional landscape. The Yard: Lincoln Square is a well-known name in this sector, offering a range of services from a simple day pass to a dedicated private office. This article will provide a clear and informative overview of this popular coworking space, exploring its location, services, and what makes it a compelling, albeit sometimes challenging, choice for New Yorkers seeking a change of pace for their workday.
The Yard is a company with roots in Brooklyn, having grown into a major player in the flexible office space market with locations across several cities, including multiple spots in Manhattan. The Lincoln Square location, in particular, is designed to be a "cozy work space, a place where you can feel at home while working at your best." The ethos is one of design and function, with an aesthetic that aims to inspire creativity and collaboration. The space features two floors of shared and private workspaces, along with lounges and conference rooms, creating an environment that is meant to be both productive and inviting.
Client experiences at The Yard: Lincoln Square can be varied, which is often the case with communal spaces. One DayPass user was highly impressed, describing the environment as "cool, fun, and inviting," and appreciating the "change of pace" and the "sense of working in office again." This review highlights the positive aspects of the space, including its aesthetic and the availability of amenities like free coffee. This kind of feedback resonates with people who are looking for a break from their home office and a chance to feel energized by a new environment.
However, another review from a DayPass user points to some of the potential challenges of a coworking model. This client found the limited availability of "Quiet Zones" and phone booths to be "very frustrating," particularly for those who need to take calls. The review also mentions a lack of outlets at many of the shared tables, which is a critical issue for anyone relying on a laptop for work. This feedback is a crucial piece of information for potential users, as it clearly outlines that the space may not be suitable for everyone, especially those with specific work requirements like frequent phone calls or the need for a reliable power source. These contrasting experiences show that while the space is a great fit for some, it might not be the ideal solution for others, and it is essential to consider your individual needs before choosing a membership.
The Yard: Lincoln Square is located at 157 Columbus Ave, New York, NY 10023, USA. This places it in a highly desirable and accessible area on the Upper West Side, just one block from Lincoln Center and minutes away from Central Park and Columbus Circle. This strategic location makes it an ideal spot for professionals who need a central and convenient workspace.
Accessibility is a key advantage of this location. The office is close to several major subway lines, including the 1, 2, and 3 trains at the 66th Street-Lincoln Center station and the A, B, C, D, 1 trains at the Columbus Circle station. This makes commuting to and from the space easy for anyone living in Manhattan or other boroughs. The building itself has a wheelchair-accessible entrance, ensuring that it is an inclusive and welcoming environment for all. For those who drive, there is paid street parking available, though it is important to note that finding a spot can be challenging in this bustling neighborhood.

For a New York professional, what is worth choosing about The Yard: Lincoln Square comes down to a few key factors. If you are a freelancer or remote worker who needs a temporary escape from your home office, a DayPass can be an excellent option to enjoy the inviting atmosphere and free coffee. For a small team or an entrepreneur who values a professional and stylish private office in a prime location, the private office rentals offer a great solution with the added benefit of being part of a larger community. The unique, art-filled aesthetic and the central location in Lincoln Square are significant draws for those who prioritize environment and accessibility.
However, it is also important to consider the potential drawbacks, as highlighted in one of the reviews. If your work requires frequent, private phone calls or guaranteed access to a quiet workspace with power outlets, a different location or a more expensive private office might be a better fit. The Yard's strength lies in its ability to offer flexible options in a well-designed space. Its appeal is in its sense of community and its prime location. By choosing the right membership level that aligns with your specific needs, The Yard: Lincoln Square can be an ideal and inspiring place to work in the heart of New York City.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I thought I would try out the DayPass, and was very impressed! I loved the environment! It really gave me a change of pace, and that sense of working in office again that I miss here and there. The aesthetic of the space was cool, fun, and inviting. I need whoever designed it to come do my home! Also, who can go wrong with free coffee?! Definitely will be doing this again very soon!
April 24 · JuliaPurchased a day pass to check it out. Unfortunately, I found the limited spaces to work and take calls to be very frustrating. There is only one “Quiet Zone” per floor (2 floors), where you can’t take calls, and most of the tables did not even have access to outlets. The space can accommodate maybe 15 people, otherwise you are left to wander looking for a random couch or chair. If you do need to take a work call, you are limited to perhaps 3-6 Phone Booths per floor, which are available on a first-come-first-serve, and all of them were taken during the entirety of my time here (about 6 hours). I assume people are sitting there taking multiple calls, so if you need to take a work call, you are out of luck.I circled every area of both floors and was not able to find a single spot to sit that was not a Quiet Zone AND had access to an outlet, so I resolved to sit near the kitchen until my laptop died. I typically go to a WeWork in Midtown, which has ample space for quiet work, calls, conference rooms, etc., and even on a busy day, I’ve been at least able to find a table to work at.I would not recommend this location unless you pay extra to reserve a room OR you do not have any work calls, but even then, you might not find a sufficient place to work.
September 04 · Jessica FosterTried this coworking space for the first time on a day pass and I was grateful! McKay was friendly and helpful both via email and on site! The day pass rate was fair considering the price point for spaces like these in Manhattan. The wifi was strong and was able to support my zoom meetings with minimal hiccups, but my only reservation was my 1st impression was that this space prioritizes the private office rental customer [perfectly fine if that's what their business model prioritizes!], as I was surprised at how little amount of work desks that were available/unavailable in the common workspaces (although there are a good amount of small circular coffee tables). Thank You, Lincoln square! Appreciated the 10% off gesture for 1st time visitor.
June 12 · Jon DrososI was in town on a family trip for the week and decided to dedicate part of my thursday to working. The space is great, clean, friendly staff, and close to central park. The only downside was the hours. I have partners in India and Australia and often meet them in the late evenings. But their day pass would only grant me access until 530pm.
July 02 · Moe MurilloRented a desk here and people (from another company) kept using it and sitting in it. Management was not particularly helpful, so I left.
