She was attentive during the tours, and at first I thought we’d built a genuine rapport. After narrowing down to a few options, my partner and I disclosed that something might get flagged during the credit check. I asked for guidance on how to navigate this, and Elisabeth told us to apply anyway.We were serious applicants, with a combined income that met the stated requirements and savings equal to two years of rent. Once our application was denied, however, Elisabeth disappeared. I had to chase her for answers, and the “option” she eventually gave was half-hearted at best. After that, there was complete silence. I even went back to the leasing office in person during business hours, only to be brushed off and handed a phone by the concierge, rather than being able to speak to anyone face-to-face.Such treatment, after investing time, energy, and transparency in this process, is not only unprofessional but also dismissive. When we looked other buildings in the area, we mentioned to someone that we were looking here and their leasing agent was like, “ooo I have heard terrible things about their management,” and you know what? I get it.It’s supposed to be a smoke-free building but our bathrooms smell like an ashtray. Always. People smoke weird and cigarettes in their apartments and it travels through the vents. Our neighbors also make the entire hallway smell like weed, and they play their music SO loudly and no matter how many times I have complained (to security, to the front desk, to the leasing office), no one has done anything. They even had an extremely loud, screaming, cussing fight in their apartment for 2 hours one day, and when I told leasing, they told me they couldn’t do anything. Um. Okay?There are always people in the gym who don’t live in the building, someone has been stealing the weights but no one has done anything, and it’s audacious that they ask us to pay for amenities when my husband and I are paying over $4K to live here. Yup. Here, in the Bronx, for $4K a month. I can’t wait until our lease ends and we can move. What’s most sad is that we were so excited for our beautiful new apartment in this beautiful building, but it’s like one of those horror movies where now our souls have been taken and we can’t ever leave.
August 14 · Jennifer SanchezI would like to recognize the exceptional service provided by the maintenance team at Lincoln at Bankside throughout my residency here (a little over 17 months), I have submitted about 5 maintenance requests for routine issues, all of which were addressed in a timely and efficient manner by both Tony and Jerome. A request made last night was completed early this morning, further showcasing the team's dedication. Even their interactions with my toddler have been a PLUS, they really make you feel welcome here. They are always so pleasant and they listen to any concerns you may have. Thank you for all your hard work guys!
August 08 · Onika SApartments are small, super expensive and falling apart. Maintenance has been called twice this week. First was the AC system that broke down and yesterday the pipe under the sink busted open. The pool is nice but the patio furniture needs to be preasure washed it is always filthy. And thanks to the voucher holders for allowing their nice relatives to come hang out till the wee hours of the night, smocking hookah and blasting music they now close the roof top at 10pm. This is not worth the money at all. When you come home on the weekends it feels like ur doing intake at the shelter with the sort of characters u see coming in and out. The entrance rug is filthy and needs to be thrown out. Staff is always blasting music at the desk or watching shows really loud. There is definitely nothing luxurious about this.

The “luxury” here is purely aesthetic. Behind the pretty facade is a poorly managed, chaotic mess that my husband and I deeply regret moving into. We’re counting down the months until our lease ends.Let’s start with the grounds: an ungodly minefield of dog poop. You cannot walk in the grass without stepping in it—often it’s on the sidewalks too. Take your shoes off at the door—there will be poop on them. Poop bag stations exist but are never restocked. Management could easily solve this, but clearly doesn’t care. The trash situation is equally horrific. Trash rooms are filthy, often overflowing with rotting food and spills. Sometimes trash doesn’t even make it to the trash room—I’ve stepped on food scraps in the carpeted hallway. Absolutely vile.It gets worse. Halls constantly reek of weed and cigarettes, and smoke seeps into our “smoke-free” unit. If you have any breathing issues, do not live here. Even the central vents and walls are stained with grey smoke—I have pictures to prove it. Residents scream and fight regularly on our floor; the police have been called multiple times. It’s hard to feel safe here. Not sure background checks are even happening. In our first three months: a stabbing (fatal), an NYPD-involved shooting, and multiple violent disputes—all in the building.The gym is a joke: weights have been stolen, machines stay broken for months, and no one cleans up after themselves. This costs $100/person? Ripoff. Same goes for the tiny pool and basketball court—frequently closed, often unusable, with no reimbursement. You’ll still pay $200/month per person for “amenities” that are either broken or filthy.Package management is chaotic. Deliveries pile up, go missing, or are left unlogged in random places. Some concierges are fantastic and truly go out of their way to help, but the system is a mess. I once found a package left in the room for months—never logged, never delivered. Front desk staff themselves are wonderful—the only consistently good part of living here.Maintenance is painfully slow—sometimes taking weeks to fix even urgent issues like broken A/C in summer. Once maintenance arrives, the workers are efficient and kind, but management delays everything. Our A/C has broken three times, and our washer twice. Only after repeated complaints and help from the front desk did anything get addressed. Major shoutout to concierge and maintenance—they are the only redeeming qualities here.The outdoor common area? Looks nice, until 8:30pm in summer when loud groups take over, blasting music, drinking excessively, and leaving liquor bottles, garbage, drugs, and more. I’ve found exposed needles, used condoms, and what appeared to be human feces near the Lincoln bridge entrance—an absolutely disgusting and dangerous welcome mat.Even the move-in process was a nightmare. We drove 22 hours only to find no one knew what was happening. Our unit had multiple issues upon arrival, and the A/C failed within a month—because it was full of construction dust that we unknowingly breathed in.Bottom line: believe the other reviews—they are not exaggerated. This building looks beautiful online but is plagued by disorganization, filth, noise, poor management, and an unsettling level of violence. Unless you plan to stay locked inside 24/7, do not fall for the photos. You’ll regret it.To top it off, my review has been up for months—and no one has ever contacted us about these issues. Sad place.
