Croman Realty Introduce
Croman Realty is a real estate agency that has been a part of the New York City property landscape for a number of years. Operating as a real estate agency, the company has historically been involved in the management and rental of various buildings throughout the city, with a notable presence in the East Village. The firm's business practices, as described in public records and news reports, have been the subject of significant legal and public scrutiny, with multiple lawsuits, settlements, and criminal charges related to tenant harassment, fraud, and unlawful business practices.
The company, along with its owner, has faced accusations of engaging in a calculated business model to force out rent-regulated tenants through a variety of methods. These have allegedly included:
Using intimidating private investigators to pressure tenants into accepting buyouts.
Engaging in "construction as harassment," where noisy and unsafe renovation work is performed in vacant apartments to make life miserable for remaining tenants.
Filing frivolous lawsuits against tenants to intimidate and wear them out emotionally and financially.
These practices have resulted in legal action from the New York State Attorney General's office, leading to a significant settlement and a period of independent management for the company's properties.
Croman Realty's office is located at 740 Broadway, 2nd Floor, New York, NY 10003. This address is situated in a prime area of Manhattan, in the NoHo neighborhood, a location known for its central access and vibrant atmosphere. The building is positioned in a highly accessible part of the city, with numerous subway lines, including the 6, N, R, W, and L trains, within a short walking distance. This makes the office easily reachable from different parts of Manhattan and other boroughs.
Despite its central location, the company's business practices and reputation have been widely documented, with a variety of negative reviews and public information available online. The experiences shared by former and current tenants often highlight issues related to apartment maintenance, unresponsiveness from staff, and alleged deceptive practices. For example, some reviewers have expressed frustration with the lack of a superintendent on premises and the alleged neglect of building maintenance.
Based on publicly available information and legal records, Croman Realty's services are centered around its role as a landlord and real estate agency for the properties it owns.

September 24 · Rita CapozziIf I could put no stars I would. Complete i d i o t s. Called to see a apartment and left a message. I get a call back from this woman who sounds like she has been doing whippets all day. Her opening line is: "So you'd like to see apartments? What is your price range?" I explain to her I am only interested in a specific apartment they have and that my roommate is here on a visa. She says that her supervisor will give me a call in 20 minutes.30 minutes later I get a call from some genius who has "been doing this for 15 years." He explains to me that the apartment has a application already and went as far to expressed clear dis-interest in taking us on as clients because of my roommate having a visa. So I said thank you for your time bye. And then comes back at me with "we can find you another place." After exclaiming how no landlord would feel comfortable taking on our situation. THEN I GET A CALL NEXT WEEK TO SEE THE APARTMENT. Which they then proceed to cancel 15 minutes before the showing. Literally a bunch of goons. NEVER EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM
