City Tower Introduce
In the dynamic and ever-growing landscape of Downtown Brooklyn, City Tower stands as a significant residential landmark. Located at the heart of the bustling City Point complex, this high-rise apartment building offers a modern and convenient urban living experience. For New Yorkers navigating the complex rental market, a building like City Tower represents a certain promise: a lifestyle defined by luxury, convenience, and direct access to a world of shopping, dining, and entertainment. As an apartment rental agency, City Tower manages a large number of units and serves as a key player in the Brooklyn housing scene.
The experience of finding a new home in New York City is often as much about the process as it is about the final apartment. In the case of City Tower, public feedback provides a clear look at both the positives and potential challenges of engaging with their leasing office. One reviewer praises a staff member, Monique, for being "very friendly and informative," highlighting a positive and reassuring interaction during the application process. This suggests that the human element of the leasing office can be a major factor in a prospective tenant's experience. However, another, more detailed review expresses a deep sense of frustration and disappointment, alleging that the leasing process was not transparent and that the office appeared to push applicants toward a third-party guarantor service, even when other financial documents were provided. This stark contrast in experiences underscores the importance of a thorough and cautious approach when dealing with any rental application.
City Tower is not just a residential building; it is a central part of the massive City Point complex, which integrates residential living with over 700,000 square feet of retail, entertainment, and dining options. This unique feature is a powerful draw for those who want to live in a self-contained urban hub. From a New York perspective, this means a resident can have immediate access to a Trader Joe's, Target, and a movie theater without ever leaving their building. This article will provide an in-depth, factual overview of City Tower, covering its strategic location, services, features, and the nuanced perspective offered by real customer reviews.
City Tower is strategically located at 10 City Pt, Brooklyn, NY 11201, USA. This address places it directly at the center of the City Point development, a major mixed-use complex in Downtown Brooklyn. The location is a transit paradise, earning a perfect "Rider's Paradise" score from public transportation data aggregators. It is steps away from a multitude of subway lines, including the B, D, N, Q, R, 2, 3, 4, 5, A, C, F, and G trains, providing residents with world-class connectivity to all parts of the city. The building is also in a highly walkable neighborhood with a Walk Score of 99/100, making it easy to access everything on foot.
The location offers direct access to the many retail, dining, and entertainment options within City Point, including Target, Trader Joe's, and the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema. This convenience means residents can enjoy a wide range of services right at their doorstep. For physical accessibility, the building features a wheelchair-accessible entrance, ensuring that all individuals can enter the premises with ease.
As an apartment rental agency, City Tower provides services centered on residential leasing and property management. Based on public data and reviews, their services include:
Apartment Leasing: The leasing office handles the entire rental application process for prospective tenants, from showing available units to processing paperwork. The building features a variety of floor plans, from studios to multi-bedroom apartments, catering to different needs and budgets.
Financial and Guarantor Services: The agency works with applicants to meet financial requirements, which can include providing financial documents or using a third-party guarantor service, as noted in a review. This service is a standard part of the New York City rental process, especially for high-end properties.
Customer Interaction and Support: The leasing staff, as evidenced by a positive review of Monique, provides information and guidance to applicants, aiming to make them feel at ease during the application process.
Property Management: Once a resident is in the building, the management team is responsible for a variety of services including a live-in super, building upkeep, and addressing resident concerns.
City Tower offers a range of features that make it a notable place to live in Brooklyn.
Prime Location atop City Point: Living at City Tower means having direct access to the expansive City Point retail complex, which includes major retailers like Target and Trader Joe's, a large food hall, and a cinema. This integrated urban living concept is a major highlight.
Luxury Amenities: Public information indicates the building offers over 23,000 square feet of amenity spaces. This can include a fitness center, a basketball court, resident lounges, private event spaces, a roof deck, and a 24-hour concierge. These amenities are designed to provide a high-end and convenient lifestyle.
High-Rise Living with Views: With residences starting on the 20th floor, City Tower offers panoramic views of Brooklyn and the Manhattan skyline. This feature is a significant draw for many urban renters.
Conflicting Leasing Experiences: A key feature highlighted by the reviews is the contrasting experiences with the leasing office. While some staff members are praised for their professionalism and warmth, other reviews describe a process that feels dishonest and designed to steer applicants toward specific services.
Physical Accessibility: The wheelchair-accessible entrance is a key feature that makes the building welcoming and inclusive for all residents and visitors.

For a New Yorker, choosing an apartment is a complex decision that requires a careful balance of a building's offerings, location, and the reputation of its management. City Tower presents a compelling package with its outstanding location and amenties. The building's integration with City Point and its unparalleled access to transit make it a highly desirable place for anyone seeking a true "live, work, play" environment. The luxury amenities, from the rooftop deck to the fitness center, offer a premium lifestyle that many renters aspire to. The positive review of a staff member, Monique, also shows that a pleasant and helpful leasing experience is possible.
However, the negative review about the leasing office is a critical piece of information that a prospective tenant must consider. The allegation that the office pushed for a third-party guarantor service, even when sufficient financial documents were provided, is a serious concern about transparency and fairness. This kind of experience can lead to a sense of distrust and frustration, and it suggests that applicants should be prepared for a potentially difficult or confusing process. Therefore, while City Tower has many attractive features, what makes it "worth choosing" depends on a tenant's ability to navigate the leasing process with vigilance and a clear understanding of the potential pitfalls. It is a building that offers a great lifestyle, but the initial experience may require patience and careful attention to detail.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We had a very disappointing experience with the leasing office at Brooklyn City Tower. We applied for a unit and made it clear from day one that this was the only unit we were interested in. We were told we needed to either use a guarantor service or submit proof of parental assets. We chose to provide financial documents instead. First, we submitted a Chinese bank statement showing over $1 million in assets, which the office said they couldn’t verify. Then we submitted a Swiss bank statement — still well within the requested time frame — yet we were told the unit had already been leased to someone else. The leasing office was fully aware that we were working on providing financial verification, and they had assured us the unit was being held pending those documents. Their behavior makes it feel like they were never genuinely considering our application and were pushing applicants toward the guarantor company instead. It feels dishonest and like a coordinated attempt to pressure tenants into unnecessary third-party fees.
July 15 · Conny WangWonderful staff! Especially Monique, very friendly and informative made us feel at ease so quickly. Would recommend!
August 25 · Sarah MitchellThis building has bed bugs and is really sketchy about disclosing it to prospective tenants. The longer story is that I was a prospective tenant who was about to sign a lease here last month. I only find out while I'm signing the lease that the building has not only had at least 3 incidents of bed bugs in the last year, but that the most recently affected unit (that had an incident within the last 2 months if not more recent) was literally on the same floor as the unit I was about to sign. Getting information and transparency about this was like pulling teeth, which I originally chalked up to busyness but now suspect that it's an attempt to cover it up as much as possible. For example, I was originally told I could bring in a bed bug dog *at my own expense* so I could have peace of mind before signing a long term lease -- they all of a sudden changed their mind and wouldn't allow me to do so. I ended up walking away from the apartment then.I am really annoyed they took my application fee and refused to return it despite their lack of transparency upfront. Further, them dragging their feet on this whole debacle meant I also missed out on many other prospective apartments because I thought I was going to move forward with City Tower. Incredibly unprofessionally handled, and perhaps something more sketchy going on. Do your due diligence / ask questions!
March 20 · Steph MI lived here for 8 years. I loved the staff, the building, and my apartment. The rent did increase a bit over time but not out of line with the neighborhood. Fantastic location in terms of everything. I'm missing it alot now that I've moved 🥲
September 23 · Anna BootUnprofessional management office, they violated the contract; after I had already paid the guaranty fee, they suddenly notified me that I couldn't move in on the contracted date without any appropriate reason. REFUND MY $20 FOR APPLICATION.
