★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The management team received a zero rating because of their handling of a maintenance issue in my apartment. We paid fees for maintenance fees and everything on time. The faucet in my bathroom couldn't be turned off, and although I reached out to the maintenance team, the management team was unwilling to cover the after-hours cost for the repair, even though the maintenance staff resides in the building. They insisted that the situation had to escalate to water flowing onto the floor before they would authorize the maintenance team to address it. Consequently, we endured over multiple hours of loud noise and couldn't take a hot shower or turn off the water.
June 24 · J RDon’t live here. They’re corporate criminals who will try to hike up your rent by 400 dollars after the first year and then steal your security deposit when you leave to cover the costs of turning over the place for the next poor sucker. They’ll further insult your intelligence by telling you they’re giving you a good deal, while anyone with eyes and StreeEasy can tell otherwise. Not to mention, security is a total joke—anyone can and will come up to your front door. For this kind of money, live somewhere else. It’s worth the start up costs and approval process to live in a better building. The one star is for the location.
March 17 · Asha LemmieJazz (the new super) was great. My door was broken and he spent almost 30 mins after hours trying to fix it. Looking forward to having you as my super!
June 18 · Ben WaldThe Equity Residential management team is absolutely terrible and the building is not well maintained at all. Over the course of my 2 years here so much went wrong. Starting with my personal apartment. I had a fridge that needed to be replaced, this took multiple service requests. I had a dishwasher that needed to be replaced, I had to send 3 emails and submit 2 formal service requests before I even got a response. The worst of all was when my toilet stopped flushing, it took them 2 months to replace my toilet during this time they ignored emails and requests to get this done forcing me to use the toilet on the PH level. When I told them about all of these they really didn't seem to care almost a, "oh well what can you do attitude." As for the building itself, the gym constantly has malfunctioning equipment, laundry machines are always out of order and there is rarely a time when both Elevators are working. This is just the stuff that affected me as a resident. If you care about being treated properly and fairly DO NOT rent here. I would avoid Equity as a whole.
December 03 · Mordy---2024 UPDATE: BUILDING MANAGEMENT HAS GOTTEN WORSE SOMEHOW. See current photos in Jan 2024. Broken gym equipment (6+ months broken), garbage in laundry room, garbage left in hallways.---Terrible management. Terrible building. DO NOT MOVE HERE!Can I give zero stars?Currently, there has been no gas (kitchen ovens don't work, laundry room is closed) for a month and the building management hasn't yet fixed this issue. They have also been terrible at communicating about it.Very slow elevators, they are always breaking down. As other reviews mention the heating system is terrible, especially since the windows are old and need to be replaced and let in a lot of cold air in the winter.Basically you are paying higher than average rent to get sub-par service. I also hear they are consistently raising the rent once you move in and that is a strategy of EQR.
