From the day we moved in until the day we moved out, it was a disaster.The water will randomly shut off with no warning, and when it comes back on, will come out brown for hours. We'd go days without hot water, also without warning. The super never repaired anything in our unit despite multiple attempts to have things resolved. We always had to escalate above the super to get anything resolved. We had water pouring from our ceiling and the super took hours to come. Our door battery died and our super wasn't in the building during business hours, leaving us locked out and unable to work for hours. They even double charged our rent one month!If you choose to live here, I hope you're good at writing emails and well versed in tenant laws in NYC. Want your deposits back in a timely manner? Get ready to fight with the property management company. Have a critical repair that no one is responding to? Get ready to fight with the property management company.From move in until move out, this was a complete disaster of a living experience. Go spend your money somewhere else.

Management was responsive but it took a long time to actually fix them.There were a number of days when water or hot water were cutt off at very inconvenient times.A lot of really cool and young people live in the building.The event spaces were great to have.
December 12 · Tolulope LawalVery bad experience for my 2 year stay. Super and management are very unprofessional. They conducted 2 inspection of my apartment before I leave the apartment and I have been texting multiple times to the super to do his job of inspection. That guy never replies or attend the phone and never told me anything else other than deep cleaning. I hired professional cleaners and did a perfect clean and still finally they ended up deducting my 100$ for no reason. I called them multiple times and they avoid picking up calls and never call back with VMs. I had multiple bad experiences before but never complained or left a negative review before. But now I am very much frustrated with the negligence. Please try to avoid renting this place, as there are very good apartments in the safe area nearby with good responsible management.

There are several months of no heating/ac, several instances of no hot water without prior notice, extreme lack of communication and responsiveness, and general disrespect for the livelihood of tenants living in the building. The Sidney is a huge health code violation!!!!
