Pachyderm Realty Introduce
Welcome to Pachyderm Realty, a real estate agency that handles properties in The Bronx and across the New York metropolitan area. In a city as dense and competitive as New York, choosing the right place to live, and the right company to rent from, is a critical decision. Tenants and prospective residents often seek out agencies that not only provide a variety of housing options but also ensure a high standard of living and responsive management. While some properties managed by Pachyderm Realty may be marketed as "luxury" with high price tags, it is important for prospective tenants to be fully informed about the realities of the living experience. We aim to provide a factual and transparent overview based on publicly available data, including direct feedback from real residents.
The New York real estate market is known for its high standards and high expectations, particularly when it comes to "luxury" buildings. However, according to reviews from tenants of a specific building managed by Pachyderm Realty at 6155 Broadway, the reality can fall short of the promises. Several long-term issues have been reported, including a lack of proactive communication from management regarding building operations and maintenance. Tenants have experienced unexpected service disruptions, such as water being turned off without notice, and ongoing problems with building amenities like laundry facilities and the gym. The review mentions that laundry machines have been out of order for extended periods due to improper care, even causing repeated visits from the fire department. These issues, along with reported poor communication from management, have left some tenants feeling that the "luxury price tag" is not justified by the quality of life in the building.
Pachyderm Realty is located at 6155 Broadway, Bronx, NY 10471, USA. This address places the agency in a notable part of The Bronx, specifically in the Riverdale area, near Van Cortlandt Park. The location itself offers excellent transit access and is a desirable neighborhood. However, it is important to distinguish between the location of a building and the quality of its management. While the location provides convenience and access to local amenities, the experiences of tenants suggest that this is a separate matter from the day-to-day operations and tenant support.
Based on the public information and tenant reviews, Pachyderm Realty appears to handle a range of real estate services, with a significant focus on property management and residential rentals. While a real estate agency can have multiple functions, the feedback provided points primarily to their role as a property management company for a residential building.
Services Offered:
- Property Management: Pachyderm Realty is involved in the management of residential properties, including a building at 6155 Broadway. This includes collecting rent and handling some aspects of building maintenance and operations.
- Residential Rentals: The company facilitates the rental process for tenants seeking apartments in the buildings they manage. Their role involves the initial showing of units and the processing of rental applications.
- Marketing of Properties: As seen in the reviews, the company markets its buildings to prospective tenants, sometimes using terms like "luxury" to describe the amenities and living experience.
While a real estate agency can boast a number of professional features, the feedback from tenants of properties managed by Pachyderm Realty points to several areas of concern. For the purpose of providing a factual overview, it is important to highlight what prospective tenants should be aware of.
Features and Highlights:
- Building Management: According to reviews, a significant area of concern for tenants is the building management. There have been reports of a lack of a dedicated on-site super and a heavy reliance on a cleaning staff member to field tenant complaints and maintenance issues.
- Communication: Tenants have expressed frustration over a consistent lack of communication regarding important building matters, such as unexpected water shutoffs or ongoing construction. This has led to inconvenience and dissatisfaction.
- Maintenance and Amenities: Reviews indicate that building amenities like the laundry room and gym have been in disrepair for extended periods. Issues with appliances and communal facilities, along with a perceived lack of urgency from management to fix them, have been reported.
- Tenant Relations: The reviews suggest that tenants who are "actually paying rent" feel that their complaints are not being taken seriously, while notices about evictions are seen frequently on doors. This has created a sense of disconnect between management and residents.

When considering an agency like Pachyderm Realty, especially for renting a property, it is essential to weigh the pros and cons carefully. The decision of where to live involves more than just the physical space and the price tag. The quality of management, responsiveness to maintenance issues, and clear communication are all critical factors that contribute to a positive living experience. The reviews provided offer a clear picture of the tenant experience in at least one of the buildings managed by this company. Prospective tenants should take these accounts into consideration, particularly the reported issues with building maintenance, the lack of a dedicated super, and the challenges with communication. While the apartments themselves may initially appear appealing, the management side of the business seems to be a significant point of concern for current residents. It is always recommended to speak with current tenants and conduct thorough research to ensure that the living experience aligns with the expectations set by the property’s marketing.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This Building is extremely mismanaged although the individual apartments are nice. The management company never notifies the tenants about work in the building or when the water will be turned off!! Over new years the water was barely coming out for 4 days with no fix. They call this building luxury but there is nothing luxurious about it. I highly recommend looking anywhere else. The laundry room is tiny, it has 4 of each machine which have been out of order for over a month, due to improper care. The machines would exhaust steam from the bottom leading the sprinklers to go off. The fire department had to remove some machines and unplugged the rest after they were here 4 times. This remains unfixed. The gym is tiny with decent equipment with cigarette holes in them. I would not recommend this building to any person trying to live here, especially with the Luxury price tag they put on this apartments!
February 03 · JaredI have moved in here about 5 months ago. When I first came to look at the building I thought this is nice, small for the price but I could work with it. Well it all went downhill from there. The biggest problem is management. As usual. When we first moved in the gym was closed for at least a month because they couldn't trust their own tenants. their were cigarette marks in the bench in the gym. Lets fast forwarded to now . The laundry room does not work, its been out of service for over a month now. I had to go pay to do my laundry somewhere else. Which btw is cheaper than what they charge for one load at this building. The laundry room was a fiasco. The Fire Department was here about 5 times in one week. Twice in one night. I would try to contact someone in the building about this but no answer. For about a week they had a citation sitting in the lobby from the FDNY. about a month ago their was no water pressure for about 4 days. The only reason why they fixed it was because I and others would call multiple times a day. Its basically having a full time job with this management company to get into contact with them. When you tell them the fire department are here-they aren't even worried. Just make excuses. They NEVER inform you of anything happening in the building. For example right at this moment there is no water coming out of any of the faucets. I was cooking lunch... They should of infomed people that they were shutting off the water. Everything's a surprise here. The building DOES NOT have a Super. They have basically given all the responsibility to Patrica- the cleaning woman. I feel terrible always having to complain to her because this should not be part of her job. If I didn't know Spanish idk what would happen. Whenever you call the Management company to express these concerns they come up with excuse after excuse. PLEASE DO NOT LIVE HERE- IT IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY AND THE HEADACHE. I remember one morning, they were doing construction- which we had NO IDEA about. All of sudden when I am trying to exit the garage to go to work, there's no way out because they had broken the garage door- their own employees. I waited about 10 minutes while they banged and tried to prop the door open. In the end I was not about to be late to work and decided to take the train. This is unacceptable. I hate living here and I hate having to pay a whooping 1800 dollars every month for this place that calls itself "luxury", Have you seen those hideous lights that they installed? it looks like a brothel. Nothing luxury about this place. But then again they will TRY ANYTHING to get people to live here. Since so many apartments are empty. I don't know how many times I have come home to EVICTION NOTICES!! on the front door, or a neighbors door. People are defaulting on their rent every day here. Yet they don't seem to care when people that are ACTUALLY paying rent call and complain. Last week I came home to my neighbors across from me with a fire marshall sign. It is embarrassing to live here. Please don't believe the positive reviews online. It might of been a nice place to live here a year ago when it was built but now its not. This is a company with 2000 buildings around the city. They are cash cows and can't keep track of any of their buildings or tenants. Can't wait to move out. If you don't believe me just ask anyone that lives here now.
