New Island Realty Inc. Introduce
In the diverse and ever-changing Long Island real estate market, finding a real estate agency that can cater to a variety of needs is essential. New Island Realty Inc., located in Lindenhurst, NY, presents itself as a full-service agency with a wide range of offerings, from residential sales and rentals to specialized services for first-time homebuyers and commercial properties. This article will provide a clear and factual overview of New Island Realty Inc., based on the provided public data and customer reviews. The information is designed to help New Yorkers understand the services offered, as well as the important feedback from past clients, to make an informed decision when choosing a real estate partner.
New Island Realty Inc. is positioned as a comprehensive "Real estate agency" in the heart of Lindenhurst, a town known for its unique blend of suburban living and waterfront access. Their service list is extensive, indicating an ability to handle a broad spectrum of real estate transactions. They offer "First-time home buyer services," which is a crucial resource in the complex New York market, where navigating the process can be overwhelming for new buyers. The agency also provides "Down Payment Assistance" and "Payment Assistance" guidance, showing a commitment to helping clients overcome financial hurdles. For those not ready to buy, they offer "Property rentals" and "House Rental" services, making them a go-to for a significant portion of the Long Island population. Their services even extend to the commercial sector, with "Warehouse property sales" and "Business Rental" listed as part of their expertise, demonstrating a versatile business model that can serve both individuals and companies.
However, it is vital to consider the customer reviews provided. They paint a very mixed picture of the agency's services, particularly concerning rentals and communication. The exchange between a renter and the owner, Hank Cardello, highlights a significant breakdown in communication and a lack of transparency. The renter's account of the agent, Laura, withholding "pertinent information" and creating a high-pressure situation is a serious red flag for potential clients. The response from the owner is equally concerning, as it appears to escalate the conflict rather than address the core issue of a lack of clear communication and professional conduct. The renter's warning to "avoid agents at all costs" and to "meet your landlords BEFORE you sign a lease" is a powerful piece of advice for anyone considering a rental through an agent. This feedback, while specific to a past situation, raises valid questions about the agency's internal communication and client management practices, which are essential for a positive real estate experience.
In contrast to the negative review, a separate testimonial praises the owner, Hank Cardello, for being "upfront and honest" and "knowledgeable and professional" in a home purchase transaction. This review highlights a positive experience with the owner himself, particularly in handling a home with "some issues," where he did not "mislead or misrepresent." This contrast is important; it suggests that while there may be issues with certain agents or in the rental side of the business, the sales side, and perhaps the owner’s direct involvement, can lead to a positive outcome. It also indicates that the quality of service may vary depending on the specific agent or type of transaction. For potential clients, this means that a thorough vetting of the agent they will be working with is highly recommended. The agency's commitment to professionalism, as stated in their provided services, must be weighed against the real-world experiences shared by clients.
Location and Accessibility
New Island Realty Inc. is conveniently located at 410 W Montauk Hwy, Lindenhurst, NY 11757, USA. This places them on a major thoroughfare, making the office easily accessible to residents of Lindenhurst and the surrounding Long Island communities. The provided information also notes that the location has a wheelchair accessible parking lot, demonstrating a commitment to serving all members of the community and ensuring a comfortable and welcoming physical environment. The agency also offers both "Online appointments" and "Onsite services," providing a flexible approach to client communication and a recognition of modern needs. New Island Realty Inc. Reviews
Renter's beware! Laura is a horrible agent, she withheld pertinent information about the landlords and they ended up being terrible.Best advice for renter's, avoid agents at all costs. They are no better than salesman. They take you to the apartment when the landlords are not home. If approved, they set up an appointment to sign the lease the same day you meet the landlords. This is not right, as both sides may not like each other and then you feel pressured, I know I did and didn't want the apartment anymore but felt stuck. Meet your landlords BEFORE you sign a lease. Believe me, it's worth it.And if do use an agent, remember they work for you, as you are paying their fee.Response to Hank Cardello:Your response is completely bogus Hank and you know it. Yes we absolutely did sign the lease on the exact day we met, when you got home from Virginia. Me being a smoker and having a cat were told to your star agent Laura. If she didn't tell you, that's on her. She didn’t even get the move in date correct. I told you this information the day we met. You had every opportunity to turn me away or make amendments to the lease, but you didn't. So there it is, Laura did not disclose your supposed wishes. And this isn't the first bad review she has had pertaining to communication.I did not ask for a 3 year lease, that is so ridiculous and absurd. I would never sign a 3 year lease with complete strangers. I asked for 1 year. Where do you come up with this stuff? It's truly unbelievable.I thought your wife was just the liar, but turns out you are too. I guess that big hug and kiss on the head when I left was bogus too?I ALWAYS smoked outside for the 9 months I was there with both you and your wife witnessing it on several occasions, and nothing was ever said to me, and as the lease permitted me to. Additionally, your wife's exact words to me were "you smoke, no problem, just smoke outside and put an ashtray out there". You were also in my apartment a few times to replace light bulbs, smoke detectors, etc. No cigarette smoke was ever inside. Then all of a sudden, out of completely nowhere, you have a problem with it, with zero communication to me. I'm also wondering how smoking outside permeates through the outside walls of a house? I smoked right outside my apartment and nothing permeated into my place. If I was smoking inside like you are implying, the apartment would have reeked and you wouldn't have given me my entire deposit back. And not for nothing, I wrote this months ago and you're just responding now? I did not mention your names or the exact information that went down out of respect, so who's the one being professional and courteous?I didn't mention that your wife hid behind a text message and didn't have the guts to speak with me in person, even though she wasn't my landlord, you were. She did not sign the lease, which makes her void. I did not mention that your wife ran out of your home harassing me, that I had to call the police on her, but now I am, since you want to make this personal.I was nothing but pleasant, communative, followed the rules of the lease, helpful to both of you, quiet, kept the apartment spotless, and paid the rent in full, on time.My review had nothing to do with you, it was about your agent and informing renters what to expect when using an agent. The only truth to your response was giving me plenty of notice to leave. However, I chose to move out 4 days after you told me because I will never tolerate manipulative liars, let alone live with them.Good luck to you.
July 29 · Susan FOur family has known Hank Cardello, owner of New Island Realty, for many years. We recently purchased a Sandy home through New Island which had some issues. Hank was upfront and honest with us. He did not mislead or misrepresent in any way. He is knowledgeable and professional. Based on the positive experience we had and continue to have with Hank and New Island, I would recommend their services!
October 24 · Maria Martino CashaI worked with Hank and Ilona to get my mother's house sold so she could move to be with the rest of our family in Georgia. We could not be happier with the service and care we were given. We ran into multiple delays the Village of Lindenhurst, which cost us to loose time and at least 2 buyers. They were by our side thru the entire process, keeping in contact with me during the times I needed to go back to GA. Hank really went over and above during the entire process, thru the closing, and following up after. I am going to miss Ilona's sweet voice!!Thank you guys...
June 19 · Susan WillettI had a recent horrible experience with the Realtor, Laura Albert. Laura not only misinformed me of the owner's responses to my offers/application but also neglected to inform the owner of my communications with her. Laura showed zero professionalism in carrying out her professional obligations and as a result, caused me to lose out on an apartment that I was very interested in, had the credentials for, and was the first offer on. Laura showed zero remorse for her unethical and disgusting behavior and I hope to advise any future party dealing with Laura to contact New Island Realty directly and immediately switch to another realtor.
February 20 · Lauren FaithFantastic company. Purchased my first home from owner Hank Cardello. Had a great experience. I highly recommend New Island Realty if you are looking to buy, sell or rent.
