July 03 · Jaclyn DimarcoI had an extremely negative experience with Andrew Netter at an open house for 174 S Windsor Ave, Brightwaters, NY 11718. When I asked two very standard questions — ‘How old is the roof?’ and ‘Was there ever any work done to resolve the water issue in the basement?’ — instead of answering, the agent became condescending and said to me: ‘You are too cheap. You tried to buy this property for too cheap, but got rejected so now you are here to take apart the house. I have dealt with people like you before. If not in person, then on paper.’For context, this property was originally listed at $1.4M and had dropped multiple times — to $1.1M, then $899K, then $849K, and finally $799K. I submitted an offer of $750K, which is only 6% below asking and, importantly, represents a price per-square-feet higher than what similar comparable homes in the area are selling for. Rather than treat this as a reasonable negotiation, Andrew mocked the offer and dismissed me.In addition, rather than answering our questions, Andrew deflected the questions with hostile remarks like: “if you don’t like this house, no one is forcing you to buy it.” This is simply when we were evaluating the home before spending our hard earned money in it. We had to remind Andrew of his disclosure agreement that he was required to sign by law to be honest and represent the seller and property with transparency and integrity.During the open house itself, he escalated further by demanding that we leave the open house immediately, and as I was walking out, he slammed the door behind me.This behavior was insulting, hostile, and unprofessional. An agent’s role is to represent the seller while treating prospective buyers with basic respect. Real estate agents are expected to negotiate offers respectfully, regardless of whether they or their client find the offer acceptable. Instead, this agent drove away a serious buyer with rudeness and personal attacks, ultimately working against the seller’s best interest. This agent treated us like trash and acted as if our $750K had no value. If you value professionalism, transparency, and respect, I would strongly advise avoiding this agent.

We had a crazy situation days after deciding to sell the house, Ray had patients, helpful suggestions and contacts that helped within hours! He was available any time I called or texted. Without his professionalism and help this could have prolonged my selling of the house. He got me top dollar and peace of mind.
