Shawn was absolutely prompt, professional and such a big help in every step of the process. He knew how to expedite every stage of finding an apartment in the most appropriate and professional way. The landlords in the area have such trust and faith in Lifestyle Realty that it was a total well-oiled machine to go through the application process right to signing the lease. I couldn't imagine finding and moving into an apartment going any more smoothly than it did.

EDIT: I wanted to clarify a few things in response to the owner of Lifestyle Realty New York's reply to my initial review. Shawn Alexander only informed me about the additional applicants and increase in rent after I contacted him first. The reason that I contacted him as I explained earlier was that I received a notification Streeteasy that the listing was "under contract" this was almost 24 hours after our agreement. Within that period he could have been transparent with me about what was happening but he was not, I was the one who contacted him first. During that our call and subsequent messages there was no indication that I was being offered the apartment first, I was just told about the other applicant ions that came in by the end of the day, and the increase in the rent. I was shocked by this and did not accept the new monthly rental amount as I was under the impression that by paying the good faith deposit the rent price was locked in.INITIAL REVIEW: I have had bad experiences with NYC agents but this place takes the cake. After viewing an apartment I liked, I made an agreement with Shawn Alexander that by paying a partial deposit he would take the apartment off the market while they do a background check on me (this seems to be standard practice with many agents NYC) The next afternoon I get a notification from Streeteasy that the apartment was in contract. I messaged Shawn to follow up on my application only to get a voice message telling me that there were more applicants on the apartment and whether I am willing to pay more for rent.When I spoke to Shawn the previous day he agreed that he would take the apartment off the market and that my deposit would go towards my moving in costs and would be refundable if I was not approved. I do not appreciate being extorted for more money after we had an agreement.I was also shocked by how unapologetic he was about his behavior. Although I got my money back , I feel I need to warn people about this agency, they are unprofessional, unethical and downright crooks.
