Citynest Group - Real Estate Introduce
Navigating the notoriously competitive and fast-paced real estate market of Brooklyn requires a partner with deep local knowledge and a genuine understanding of its diverse neighborhoods. Citynest Group - Real Estate, a Brooklyn-based agency, positions itself as that partner, offering a wide array of services for clients looking to buy, sell, or rent property. The firm is deeply rooted in the borough, with a core team that has lived and worked along 4th Avenue for years. This local perspective is a significant advantage, allowing them to provide a unique "birds eye view" of the market and connect clients with the best possible opportunities.
The company prides itself on being an expert in specific neighborhoods, including Bay Ridge, Sunset Park, Greenwood Heights, Gowanus, Park Slope, and Boerum Hill. This disciplined focus is a key part of their strategy, based on the belief that "consistent quality is better than mediocre quantity." For clients, this means they are working with a team that has a nuanced understanding of the local landlords, clients, and competition, ensuring they can "broker the best deal." Whether you are a first-time homebuyer looking to settle down in Park Slope or a seasoned investor seeking a new commercial property in Gowanus, Citynest Group aims to provide the expertise and guidance you need.
As with any business that operates with a high volume of transactions and deals with the emotional nature of home buying and renting, a company's reputation can be shaped by a variety of client experiences. Public feedback for Citynest Group presents a mixed picture, with some clients having very positive experiences, while others voice significant concerns. For example, one client praises the team's efficiency and communication, noting they "always introduce us to potential candidates with all requirements we've requested" and that the process is "incredibly fast." This positive review highlights a successful and reliable partnership for property owners. However, another review describes a highly negative experience as a prospective renter, citing alleged unprofessionalism, a lack of communication, and a perceived disregard for a client's urgent needs. This review serves as an important reminder for potential clients to conduct thorough research and verify all information before engaging with any real estate company.
Citynest Group - Real Estate is located at 506 5th Ave 2nd floor, Brooklyn, NY 11215, USA. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1"Never, never apply with City Nest to find a place to rent. THEY ARE NOT SERIOUS. They are the most irresponsible and inhumane people I have ever met. They play with people's need to find a place to live.Over a month ago, I applied on Zillow for an apartment that was within my budget. I contacted Edison Nurcellari and explained that I had very little time to find something that fit my budget. Everything seemed to be going well because supposedly there were few applicants and my credentials and credit score were excellent. I usually don't like to provide sensitive information like my social security unless I'm sure it's a serious company, but I did. What struck me at that time is that no one answers the phone number on the company's website. Then I went to the address on the website and someone who answered the intercom said they no longer had the office there. So I did my research and found the name of Ahmed Eldib, who is the Broker. I contacted him, but he didn't respond at that time. After Edison gave me hope about that apartment, he told me that the owner decided to give it to someone else. I applied with them again for another slightly more expensive apartment, but due to the urgency, I had no other option. That's when I met Mr. Eldib and the apartment owner via video call. After a long wait, they told me I had been approved but they would only deliver the apartment on June 1st. They sent me the lease by email to sign. We discussed the payment method and ultimately agreed that all payments would be made via Zelle. They wanted payment immediately, so I went to the bank to request certified checks for the first payment. I asked Edison if we could sign at his office and he scheduled an appointment for today at 5 pm. But yesterday he wrote to tell me that the appointment had been canceled until the owner was clear about the payment method. I didn't understand what was happening, so I wrote to Eddie who responded hours later saying that the owner had decided not to rent and that he would ask me to look for something with a higher commission. Companies like this shouldn't exist!!! Here are the screenshots so you can draw your own conclusions."
April 29 · Olga NunezOur family has been working with Eddie and his team for 2 years to rent out our property. Eddie always introduces us to potential candidates with all requirements we've requested. In addition, he is a great communicator and is incredibly efficient. Lastly, we have never had any issues with our tenants that Eddie has introduced us to and he gets the entire process (meeting tenants, final walkthrough, lease signing/payments) done incredibly fast! We look forward to working with him and his team in the future. Thank you Citynest and Eddie for a fantastic experience!
July 11 · Fiona LThis is my second time using Citinest to rent out a property. Eddie got back to me within 24 hours and the process from photos to the listing becoming live was fast and effective. Eddie was very responsive, communicative and professional. The last candidate from Citinest has been a great tenant for the past 5 years and the new tenants for two units were signed within 1-3 weeks of active listing. The agent assigned was Edison, who was a wonderful person to work with. He is very detailed, friendly and efficient. I look forward in working with them in the future and will definitely refer them to others who are looking to rent out their rentals or finding a place. It was my pleasure to work with you all. Thank you so so much for making this whole process so seamless and stress-free.
June 29 · Celine JiangI believe we were taken advantage of by Citynest in 2018. We were in our early 20s, naive and had not signed a lease in NYC before. We were only shown 2 units and were rushed into applying for an apartment that was way outside of our budget the day of the viewing because “there was no time to sleep on it.” To no surprise, we were not approved right away because of our income being too low. I wish it would have ended there, however, we had to put down an application deposit and it was not refundable because they said we hadn’t technically been denied. The whole process was stressful, and we were uncomfortable with how quickly everything was moving. We had asked family members to be co-signers but even their income wasn’t enough. At that time, the application deposit was large enough that we couldn’t afford to lose it, so we hoped that we would be denied so it could be given back to us. The next day we received a call saying “don’t ask me how, but I got you approved, so long as you sign a 2 year lease.” I still don’t know what he did, and I’m not going to say any names (because I think this is a reflection of the company and not the individual) but to say the least, we were disappointed and had no interest in signing a 2 year lease. Even though this offer was not what we asked for, we were still unable to get our application deposit back unless we signed the lease, because they considered it backing out if we didn’t sign. So, being the poor naive renters that we were, we signed the lease even though we were very uncomfortable. I understand that we made a mistake by applying for the apartment in the first place, but when you are that young and desperate it is easy to break under pressure. I’ve since rented many apartments in NYC and have never felt as taken advantage of as I did with this company. They should have been earnest and told us that our income was way too low to submit an application; they shouldn’t have “pulled strings” to get us to sign a 2 year lease with who we later learned to be a slumlord (company name is SUNSET PARK HOLDINGS LLC.) This was only the beginning of a long and terrible living situation which continued to take advantage of two young renters who did not come from money and didn’t know that what was going on was not ok. I know this does not necessarily reflect Citynest, but our lease terminated early because of the ceiling collapsing without being fixed for over six months. This ended in a nasty lawsuit with the landlord who made false claims against us, saying we missed a month of rent (despite me having receipts to prove that we did.) Overall, I would not trust this company if you are a first time renter. Make sure you know what you’re doing before you work with the so you don’t get pressured into an apartment you don’t want and can’t afford.
