Castoria Real Estate Reviews
Tenants beware! Frank Castoria will take every possible avenue to try to scam you. An external garden hose pipe burst because he failed to winterize properly and it predictably froze; he tried to blame me for the huge water bill that resulted, and jacked our rent up 40% when I refused to pay the utilities that the landlord was obligated to cover in the lease. When we ultimately moved out, he stole $300 from our deposit to cover the cost (and then some; did he send it to the moon???) of disposing of his own broken dishwasher. The dishwasher (his property) was broken when we moved in two years prior, and at the time of move in I told him I didn't really need it, so he could get rid of it if he did not want to repair or replace it. You'd think that this was a favorable outcome for the landlord, wouldn't you? For him it was more than favorable, as it was an excuse for yet another ripoff. He waited two years without saying anything about charging us for disposal, which he legally would not have been able to do, and cheated us. He correctly calculated that it was not worth my time and effort to reclaim the $300 via small claims court. Guess what, Frank - I haven't forgotten, and the barrier to warning prospective tenants about your shameless greed is much lower.Edit to respond:This man also harassed me frequently over a perfectly legal hobby. Homebrewing beer for personal consumption and sharing with friends over the age of 21 is legal and commonplace. He has a very loose understanding of the brewing process to think there is any economic upside in trying to sell beer made in 5 gallon batches. That works out to about $1/hour at best. I tried to explain this to him each time he brought it up but it went in one ear and out the other. Do you know what people do when they want to make money from brewing beer? They start breweries, where they can operate at a scale that makes economic sense; even then, the margins are barely viable. I have a day job, my dude.
January 23 · Kevin McGheeFrank is a very sincere and helpful broker. He helped us find our new home, worked with us through the process and even after the sale went through to get us on our feet and put us in touch with the various components of owning a building. We've been working with Frank for over a year and consider him to be a great broker and a better person.
January 03 · Dan DiCapiteVery disappointed in the service as I heard only positive things. Frank Castoria was upset that we were 15 minutes late, even though he was late himself, that he decided to yell at me instead of showing us an apartment we were interested in.DO NOT UTILIZE WITH HIM. FOR ANY TRANSACTION.
February 21 · Moshin BabaBait and switch, anyone? They post fake listings on Street Easy, which when you call in about (and that's if by some miracle they answer their phone), they refuse to even acknowledge you are inquiring about, and immediately ask you "what are you looking for"? So unprofessional. Don't waste your time.
