My wife and I were also incredibly desperate to find a place because we were running out of time. I met with Michael on a rain check and spent more than 3 hours in tbe car sitting in traffic to meet him. We got to the apartment, which was great, but Michael seemed confused on who the landlord was. Michael greeted the landlord as “Giuseppe” and the landlord, looking incredibly confused, told him “I’m not Giuseppe….” Anyways, we came to an agreement that we’d submit the applications and necessary paperwork and that’s where we left off. So I sent Michael a couple texts after regarding the broker fee, which he obviously immediately responded to, but when I followed up requesting applications and necessary paperwork to submit, Michael was nowhere to be found! I sent Michael a few texts reminding him how urgent our situation was and how we were ready to submit the paperwork and take the next step. Radio silence. Still haven’t heard back from him. Better yet, the apartment has been delisted on StreetEasy and Zillow! Sterling23 doesn’t have the decency to text you to let you know if something is still available. I’d rather be homeless than deal with these people. I bet they’ll respond to this review “sorry Dylan the apartment was rented blah blah blah” but that still doesn’t change the fact that their inability to handle simple, courteous communication is embarrassing. Believe anyone that ever has something bad to say about sterling23. Simple as that.
September 27 · Dylan D'AlessioI highly recommend you stay away from this group. Specifically Dmitry kolpakov who was my leasing agent. I was recently locked inside my unit and it was an emergency situation to get out. He suggested I call a locksmith (even saw the situation in person) and then once I request reimbursement from the landlord, he totally turns his back on myself, the tenant who was trapped. He then supported the landlord and said I did not follow proper protocol. Total contradiction and bad faith. Do not trust them.

She's super professional, knowledgeable, polite and very helpful. Most importantly, she isn't pushy like some realtors I've dealt with. She took her time to show us multiple apartments and was impartial during the whole process letting us make our own decisions. I would highly recommend Markella.

They have exclusivity contracts with a lot of landlords in Astoria so their approach is biased: you don’t get real estimate of electric bill, no communication unless they need you for visits and they stopped me from finding new tenants myself. Would absolutely stay away as a tenant!
