While the promotional materials and public listings paint a picture of luxury, the available public reviews offer a different perspective. Several reviews from former and current residents raise serious concerns about the living environment and management practices. A recurring issue is the significant noise from a neighboring construction site, with residents complaining about daily noise from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. This is compounded by what residents describe as poor noise insulation within the building itself, with thin walls allowing noise from neighbors to easily filter through. Another consistent complaint is the lack of transparency from brokers, who are accused of lying about the construction noise and other building features, such as the absence of a kitchen vent hood. The management and broker relationship is also a point of contention, with residents expressing frustration over communication issues, high fees for services like laundry cards, and aggressive practices regarding apartment showings for new tenants. Issues with high utility bills due to individual electric water heaters and cheap finishes are also frequently cited. Despite some positive comments about the on-site front desk staff and doormen, the overall sentiment in many reviews is one of deep dissatisfaction, with a number of residents explicitly advising others not to move into the building.

When considering what is worth choosing, the decision to rent at a place like Bevel LIC requires a balanced perspective. On one hand, the building offers a truly luxurious and amenity-rich living experience in a fantastic, well-connected part of Long Island City. The apartments are visually appealing, and the common areas provide a sense of modern, upscale living. However, the consistent and detailed negative feedback from current and former residents cannot be ignored. The issues with persistent construction noise, thin walls, and a perceived lack of professional conduct from management and brokers are significant concerns that could severely impact the quality of life. The additional costs for utilities and services, which are higher than expected by some residents, also need to be factored into the overall cost of living. For a New Yorker, finding a home is about more than just a beautiful apartment; it's about finding a living situation that is both comfortable and financially sound. Therefore, while the promotional materials highlight the best of Bevel LIC, the public reviews provide a critical reality check that is essential for making a truly informed and wise decision in the competitive New York rental market. It is advised to tour the property at different times of the day to assess noise levels and to speak with current residents to get a first-hand account of their experience.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1DON'T LIVE HERE!!!!First I want to say the on-site front desk staff and super are very nice and helpful. The bad reviews are for the management and the building itself:1. Construction site right next door. Noise from 7:30-5:00 PM everyday.2. No curtains in the room, need to install your own.3. Charged $3 for paying rent from direct deposit.4. $10 for getting a laundry card, plus the cost to do laundry is the most expensive I've every seen.5. Cheap material for the cabinet and did not even bother to install a vent. You just get a piece of stainless steel above your stove.6. Bad design for the cabinet island. Not able to get things out easily7. Broker will request to enter your apt for showing even if you gave availability. And then the leasing office will 'black mail you' for not cooperate and will let people in for anytime 9am to 6pm8. Lots of dog shit at the back entrance. Smells----Living here for a year is one of my biggest mistake in life, don't move here!
May 20 · Ting Fang ChengHorrible brokers. The worst.I moved in the summer of last year, now reaching the end of my lease.Noise is bad. When I toured the apartment before move-in - I specifically asked one of the brokers, Sara, if there was construction was happening. She lied and waved it off like it was nothing serious, also lied about the unit having a kitchen hood. At the time I was running out of time so I moved in, but never compensated for the broker’s lack of responsibility and incompetence. You can complain to management all you want and they won’t do shit because the brokers operate with and are managed by Cityview and not Bevel.Doormen are the only people that keep me sane in this building. Josh is great. Probably the only helpful one around. Gym is good 24/7 but not taken care of. Location great. Doorman hours are something like 7am-11pm so it’s the worst if you don’t have your key and need to get in the middle of the night.Be wary of higher ConEd bills, every apartment comes with its own mini water heater that tenants are expected to pay for “the electricity to power it”. Which means substantially higher ConEd bills on top of the rent they charge. My recommendation is to look for something else. This building is not worth your time especially with so many others nearby. Finishes are cheap and walls are thin. Poor design everywhere. Laundry is expensive, kinda gross with all the dog hair and they don’t do maintenance.Fast forward to this summer - the brokers are entering and harrassing us nonstop to show the apartment. We’ve asked them to text us before showing up at the door and they won’t even do that. Sure, the brokers are competing with one another and I get that but they’ve been operating in such an annoying and inconsiderate, most of all disrespectful way. I saw one of the brokers become a completely different person when the potential renters were a family with older adults versus two girls in their 20s, the level of professionalism is plain sad. When you tell management you want to move out, only then will they ask why and if they can do anything about it lol. I guess they have a lot of vacant units because so many people left due to construction noise.
June 23 · Jane LOthers reviews already pointed out the noise issues. The management company (Goose management) is unbelievably difficult to work with and will nickel and dime you every little thing. Some examples:- doing a full laundry load was 7 dollars. Machines are small so you’ll likely have to do several loads- they wanted us to pay 100 dollars to verify with our mortgage company that we paid rent on time- a week before moving in, they notified us the unit was not ready to be moved in and they needed a couple days to prepare the unit. Despite promising us to reimburse us, they never did.- we were charged a late fee because the autopay did not account for them increasing our rent- if you decide to ignore this review and still decide to move in, make sure to document every issue with the unit otherwise you’ll be financially responsible for all the issues when you move out. They took out 60 dollars from our security deposit for a missing sink stopper despite the stopper missing when we moved in. We haven’t had any prior issues with such difficult management so incorrectly figured it was a nonissue. Why did we put up with all this? The location was very good. But given all the available inventory available, I recommend looking elsewhere.
May 22 · Geoffrey KLived here for a year. Staff is great, management is brutal. It’s a great place to stay as long as you don’t mind a barrage of construction noise eight hours a day from 7 AM to 5 pm , Monday-Friday.Caution to anyone taking a tour on a weekend. It’s deceiving. All the amenities are basically useless during the workday due to the constant parade of drilling that you can feel through the whole building. If you’re trying to open up your windows in the summer, good luck.top tier some of the worst quality management I’ve ever dealt with. Only way to get an answer from them is if you stop paying your rent.Moving out in two weeks and couldn’t be happier. Don’t even have another place to stay yet, but I’d rather be temporality homeless than have to stay in Bevel for another 12 months.Josh, Lety, Santiago, Eliza are all amazing along with the rest of the internal crew. I will miss them but not much else.Goodbye Bevel!! Thank God.
